Safia Ayad on her favorite looks for every day and special occasions

Which hairstyle is 100% you?
Tiny curls and a lot of volume.

Which current hair trend do you like the most?
I’m a long hair girl dreaming about a short haircut.

Would you go for an extreme hairstyle like the buzzcut?
Definitely not! I’m pretty conventional with my hair (and a bit too chicken).

How do you like to wear your hair in daily life?
The only thing I do every day is to wash and dry my fringe. That makes all the difference!

What’s your insider tip for a glamorous hairstyle?
Glamour is about curls! I love curling my hair with the tiniest tool I have. That adds a lot of volume and makes my hair shine.

What’s your look on a Sunday if there is no event or photo session?
A long dress with a pair of Converse. I need to feel free, not squeezed into a pair of pants.

Safia Ayad's worst hair disaster and best hair secret

What was your biggest hair faux pas?
When I was 19, I wanted to be a redhead. I trusted one of my friends who was studying hairdressing, but it didn't go well. I finished with green hair, impossible to live with. I remember going to the nearest supermarket to buy the most natural tint I could find to fix it.

What’s your ultimate hair secret?
Taking time for a hair mask to work its magic. I used to be the type of person who would want it to go faster and didn’t let the mask on long enough. Now, I leave it in at least 5 minutes and my hair is so much healthier!

What hairstyle will you wear when you’re 70?
Long gray hair. I love it!

Where do you find inspiration?
My inspiration always comes just before falling asleep. It’s like my brain is more open to think freely. I also try to find inspiration in books, magazines, series, movies, music ... All art is a good source of inspiration.

Safia Ayad's faves

Name three products you always carry in your travel bag.
Hair oil, nutritive mask and the hair detangler spray.

Who is a real (hair) role model for you and why?
My aunt! She has the most amazing hair I have ever seen. She uses natural products like Henna and Argan oil, which is a great example to follow.

If you could be someone else for a day, whose life would you want to live?
Mata Amritanandamayi, who is known as Amma. Her life's work is sharing love, respect and compassion around the world.

Beauty is...
Being yourself.

Fringe or no fringe?

What was your best trip ever?

France or Spain?
France <3
