Appealing Hairstyles of Sitcom Stars

Sitcoms are the traditional mainstay of TV stations. 'How I Met Your Mother', 'The Big Bang Theory', and 'Hart of Dixie' are the modern versions of this genre. After a long hectic day, the characters relax us with entertaining lifestyles without worries, which could not be solved in 40 minutes or less. Friendship, love, intrigue, and mom are the favourite topics of TV series writers. Let us not forget suspense! We waited for ten years to finally meet Mom. The writers and characters keep viewers spell-bound and suspended in a phantasy world.

2 Broke Girls

One of the two girls is from a working class family, street-wise and savvy. The other girl grew up in one of the richest families in Manhattan. Then, from one day to the next, she finds herself penniless in the streets of New York. Max (Kat Dennings) takes in the suddenly penniless Caroline (Beth Behrs) and makes sure that she gets a job in a diner. Max and Caroline become friends and partners in a plan to escape their working conditions. They have a great plan to open up a cupcake business, which lacks nothing but the small detail of funding to the tune of 250,000 Dollars. The attitude and off-beat humour of the two friends appeal and entertain.

The women are in their twenties with college degrees in their résumés and big ideas in their heads. Now what? With her parents no longer footing her bills, Hannah (Lena Dunham) tries to keep afloat doing all kinds of office jobs while trying to make it as a writer. She teams up with her three best friends Marnie (Allison Williams), Jessa (Jemima Kirke), and Shoshanna (Zosia Mamet) to make a living in Brooklyn, NY. Undauntedly, the four young women remain creative, completely honest, and hilarious.

Hart of Dixie

The newly licenced physician Zoe Hart (Rachel Bilson) loves her home turf in New York. However, fate and an inheritance made her the owner of a general practitioner’s office in a small Southern US town. As it happens so often in life as in TV series, after a short visit, Zoe gets stuck in the backwaters of Alabama to have it out with the stubborn natives of a village named Bluebell. The competition is on the move in the person of practitioner Dr Brick Breeland. Love throws another monkey wrench in her plans.

How I Met Your Mother

The expectation of a happy ending is one of the major attractions of this series. Ted (Josh Radnor) found his dream woman (Cristin Milioti), married her, and had children with her. Now, 25 years later, he tells his children how it all happened in the face of mounting obstacles. He does not miss an obstacle, not even a small one. His best friends are the main characters in his stories. Among these friends are the up and coming lawyer Marshall (Jason Segel) who is engaged to the kindergarten teacher Lily (Alyson Hannigan), ladies’ man Barney (Neil Patrick Harris) who has more to deliver than just his legendary humour and gift of gab, and last but certainly not least, the attractive Robin (Cobie Smulders) who Ted cannot help but court over and again.

Mad Men

In the early 1960s, chain-smoking womaniser Don Draper (Jon Hamm) is a success in the advertising agency Sterling Cooper in New York City. Dark spots in Don’s past surface as the series develops. The series draws its main tension and interest from professional competition, private relationships, and extramarital affairs. The series reflects on the societal norms of the 1960s while providing hopeful outlooks to the future.

The Big Bang Theory

Leonard Hofstadter (Johnny Galecki) and Sheldon Cooper (Jim Parson) are genius physicists. They are certainly familiar with the structure of atoms. Too bad their genius does not extend to the vagaries of life in general and women in particular. Leonard has a thing for his neighbour Penny (Kaley Cuoco) who is all Leonard is not. While waitress Penny fits the cliché of the naïve blonde, she is also socially competent and calls a healthy dose of common sense her own. She is a puzzling phenomenon for the two educated boys next door. At least in this series, opposites attract. Soon the waitress and the two physicists form an unbeatable trio who stand for love, excitement, and the wisdom of meeting life with humour.

The Styles of the Sitcom Stars

The take-home messages from the TV series depend on your expectations and viewpoints. Aside from the actions and developments in the TV series, the looks and styles of the stars also influence our perceptions and inspire our fashion and hairstyle choices. 'Hart of Dixie' star Rachel Bilson’s New York City style is certainly conspicuous in the small Alabama town. In real life, she makes her mark in quite different ways. Her choices are restrained and her brown wavy hair is casually swept to the side (see the photo above).
