  • Hairdo Trends on the Streets of New York

Wild yet wearable. Strident yet elegant. Feminine yet cool. The city that never sleeps is wide awake when it comes to hair styling. Imagination and a bold fashion sense are skilfully blended in the street style image of the American metropolis – creating a modern mix that is both attractive and trendsetting. Fashion forward – the mega-city’s fashion motto is reflected in its hairdos!

New York Street Style: Pageboy Cut

Retro winner: The pageboy cut was an absolute hair hit during the fifties and sixties in particular. Originally the cut was inspired by the look of English hotel pageboys – hence the name. Back in the here and now (or rather in New York), the neat short cut with fringe is once more gaining popularity on the heads of trendsetters! Why not, after all the distinctive cut makes a cool statement about new fashions.

Tip: Gloss spray gives the pageboy cut a perfect finish!

    New York Street Style: Half-Bun

Stylish to the second power: The easy updo is a must-have in the fast-paced Big Apple. For the update New Yorkers are putting two trends together: The top knot with half-up hair. This look is ultra-casual yet somehow also classy, not to mention fast, easy and straightforward to style so it looks good on anyone. The upshot: Absolutely hip in hair, not only for it-girls from the Hudson!

Tip: Combine a loose undone mane with the chignon to become an absolute street style queen!

    New York Street Style: Floodlights

Fancy floodlights illuminate the streets of New York! Lighter strands in a natural look have quasi become good street style form. Now the trendy effects are combined with any outfit from business chic to the jeans look, appearing especially laid back with a frayed fringe and playful sunglasses.

Tip: Dark clothing such as a black sweater really brings out the hair highlights!

New York Street Style: Half-Back Hair

Kim Kardashian did it first, New Yorkers are following suit: Platinum blonde hair in the half-back look – the top hair styled back using a hair dryer, brush and spray, without any hair clips, barrettes or hair elastics. This cool hairdo radiates power and draws attention to the face. A real eye-catcher!

Tip: From a casual leisure time look to an extravagant hairdo for going out on the town – the half-back does it all!

  • Hairdo Trends on the Streets of London

Passionately stylish – the British capital is known for fashionable people who enjoy experimentation. The London look: Hip, bold fashion statements with plenty of class. The English bet on extravagance, trends and good taste, also when it comes to hair – very British in other words.

    London Street Style: Ombré Hair

This look is not new but true! Ombré hair or dip-dye is a stylish number when it comes to colourful hair topping. What makes this hairstyle so appealing? The perfect colour gradient appears softly washed out, exciting yet natural!

Tip: A cool, long fringe brings out the colour contrast in the hair to best advantage and turns the mix of dark (top) and light (bottom) into an unbeatable team

    London Street Style: Rasta Hair

Truly eye-catching not just in summer, but also a hot look in rainy London: Rasta braids! In the cultivated version, the multi-mini braids create a popular style contrast with classy clean chic. They are also really practical, easy to care for and versatile to style. The half-back including tuck-in version (with scarf) is just one of countless possibilities – and now state-of-the-art.

Tip: Rastas are a great hairdo trend for a ponytail or half-bun as well!

    London Street Style: Military Cut

London ladies bet on the buzz cut look – and they can wear it! Typical for the military cut: The hair is shaved down to a few millimetres. Women with highly feminine faces in particular score points with this bold haircut. Be sure to keep the outfit soft and womanly so the look is not too radical.

Tip: To create even more of a stir, colour your hair – for instance platinum blonde

    London Street Style: Messy Waves

The mother of all street style looks defines the hair image on London’s streets: Undone hair! With a centre parting and soft waves at the ends, the messy style is attracting the most attention – and this version is convincing with its passionate nonchalance.

Tip: Bright highlights in the lengths add extra glow to this trendy hairdo!
