Men’s hair is no longer simple, short and practical. The time of the nothing but sensible, unchanging hair styles for men is long gone. International designers in their fashion shows in Paris, Milan and New York revealed quite a few ideas about the new male image for the fall/winter season, including hair styles. We have taken a closer look and tell you exactly how you can create the new hair styles

  • The fall season is going to bring a never before seen variety of hair styles for men. Designers seem to experiment with all kinds of hair styles. As you can see in fashion shows in Paris, Milan and New York, everything goes. Calvin Klein sees men wearing their hair razor-short while other designers favour long manes. Tousled out-of-bed styles co-exist with well-organised hair. Designers like Vivienne Westwood and Dolce & Gabbana resurrected the 1920s and 1930s looks and even the 1980s styles still have legs.

The contrasts could not be more pronounced. Obviously, hair style designers play with masculine and feminine elements this season. This contrast gives the new hair styles for men their special appeal.

    Burberry Prorsum

The mop tops of the Fab Four are back in fashion. As a slight variation from the 1960s, the style is now more structured but less accurate. Your covering hair needs to be sufficiently long if you want to rival the British chic of Burberry Prorsum. The fringes cover the entire forehead to the eyebrows. It is OK to cut the side and neck hair shorter this time around. The fringes and the covering layer are pulled inward over a round brush while blow-drying your hair. Distribute a small amount of hair wax or crème on your fingertips and comb the hair forward into your face while running your fingers through your hair. Finally, shape some strands of hair with your fingers to give your hair more structure

    Hermès

Hermès uses the same basic haircut for men as described above for Burberry Prorsum’s hair style. Longer covering hair is combined with shorter side and neck hair. In this variation, the hair is combed back. Put a walnut-sized dollop of styling mousse into the still damp hair to make styling easier and provide the necessary hold. To add volume to your hair, we recommend hanging your head upside down while blow-drying it. Then work a small amount of hair crème through your hair and run your fingers through your covering hair front to back a couple of times. Different from the casually layered covering hair, the side and neck hair should be combed close to your head in an organised fashion. This gives this hair style its exciting contrast. We recommend this hair style particularly for men with naturally wavy or curly hair

    Dolce & Gabbana

Dolce & Gabbanas were definitely inspired by the 1980s hair fashion. Their models therefore wear carefully styled hair in their fashion shows. For these hair styles, the covering hair should be longer than the side hair as well. Towel your hair and work a small amount of styling mousse through the still damp hair to provide the necessary hold. Then blow-dry your hair while hanging your head upside down. That provides more volume. Deeply part your hair on the side and blow-dry your hair while brushing it back. Finally, apply a small amount of hair wax or hair crème as well as some hair spray

    Jean Paul Gaultier

Jean Paul Gaultier emphasises the feminine elements in his hair styles for men. Work some styling mousse through the still damp hair and part your hair on one side. Now tautly pull all your hair to one side and roll it on curlers on this one side. Blow-dry the hair on the curlers and allow it to cool before removing the curlers. Comb your hair and apply some hair spray. Wearing this very stylish hairdo for men requires some courage

    Etro

Men wear their hair long at Etro. Hair needs to be healthy and well-groomed for this look. Accurately part your hair in the middle and blow-dry it while pulling it strand by strand through a paddle brush. Style-conscious men use a flat iron for very smooth and straight hair. Don’t forget to use heat protectant spray before reaching for the flat iron. Your hair will look better for it. Add gloss spray for more radiant hair

    Vivienne Westwood

Vivienne Westwood is nostalgic for the 1920s and 1930s. Back then, finger waves were all the rage. This season, you are going to find many hair style elements reminiscent of this era and style. Use a comb to distribute some gel in the longer covering hair and part you hair deeply on one side. Now form your front covering hair into a loose quiff falling sideways into your face. If necessary, hold this wavy quiff in place for a while using hair slides. Apply some hair spray to keep your hair and the quiff in shape

    Michael Kors

Michael Kors probably wears one of the least elaborate and easiest hair styles for men. Distribute some hair wax or hair crème on your fingers and sleek your side hair back close to the scalp. Tousle your covering hair any way you like it and pull your hair in shape as needed
