Milan, the Italian fashion metropolis and one of the world’s fashion centres, dazzled us with an overwhelming stream of new creative designs. The Milan Fashion Week sets the new trends for the coming winter. The hair styles are going to follow the prevailing minimalism and will be very straight, very austere, and glossy to the max

  • On the fourth day of the Milan Fashion Week 2011, Raf Simons (for Jil Sander) presented his visions for the fall/winter season. More than any other designer he represented the spirit of this year’s collections. His designs are inspired by the works of the photographers Diane Arbus and Louise Dahl-Wolte and playfully combine the elements of volume and minimalism. The colours for his collection span the entire spectrum from plain solid colours to very intense shades.

Versace and Gucci also presented very colourful collection in Milan; prominent were rich berry hues. Dyed fur stoles are an up and coming trend in the Gucci line. In contrast, Roberto Cavalli showed his penchant for a certain rock n’ roll attitude, which he expressed in his flowing chiffon creations and fluttering shift dresses, which provided for some glamour in his collection.

Moschino elected to work with simpler lines. Designer Rossella Jardini was inspired by the Navy. Her austere creations come with Navy officer’s hats. Miuccia Prada takes as along on her time travel. She showed 1920s style flapper dresses in wild prints, which seem to pay homage to Yves Saint Laurent’s famous Mondrian dress.

  • You can look forward to new sleek hair styles

The hair style trends at the Milan Fashion Week are rather cool and business-like this year. Wherever you look, models wear sleek hair styles. Sometimes, side partings and braids give the sleek look a feminine note and sometimes sleek hair comes in a rather short and dandy style.
If you don’t like your hair very sleek you are still in style with straight hair and a middle parting. Well, see and make up your own mind! Below, you find the best looks from the Milan Fashion Week 2011.
