It’s already high season for trends at the beginning of the year. The international fashion marathon started with a bang in New York City in mid-January and usually ends to great effect early March in Paris. We present the most exciting hairstyle trends from New York City, London, Milan and Paris

    The French plait is also with us for fall/winter 2014. It moved prominently to the top position at the international shows. Whether as a highlight parted from the centre and braided in the front part of the hair (see picture above) or as a total hair sculpture woven around the entire head: braids are aways a real eye-catcher.

    As for hair colour, all designers, from New York to Paris, were in agreement: platinum blond is the colour that should definitely not be missed this year. Whether loosely swept to one side or pulled back at the neck into a tight ponytail parted on the side, platinum blond makes every look special.

  • New York City Fashion Week

    Whether in a cathedral, in a church or against the backdrop of sleepy forest, New York City Fashion Week reached very deep into its bag of tricks when it came to coming up with locations for its various runway shows. From February 6 to 13, labels such as Marc Jacobs, BOSS and Victoria Beckham introduced their collections along with hairstyle trends for fall/winter 2014. The motto: flamboyant, exciting and playful.

    London Fashion Week

    From February 14 to 18, 2014, London was the focus of fashionistas. Burberry, Vivienne Westwood and Tom Ford were some of the biggest designers at the London Fashion Week. Inspring rock ‘n roll, cool shades in their clothing, and on the heads of models.

    Milan Fashion Week

    Fashion Week is also a welcome event in Italy. From February 19 to 25, Gucci, Prada, Jil Sander and other renowned designers showed off Milan their fall/winter 2014 collections in Milan. They also presented hairstyle trends. All follow the same motif: classically structured and a bit playful.

    Paris Fashion Week

    The high point and grand finale was in Paris. From February 25 to March 5, models strutted down the runway in creations from designers such as Chanel, Yves Saint-Laurent and Isabel Marant. Paris gave the final touches for fashion and hairstyle trends, presenting itself as young,chic and absolutely French.

    Simply beautiful—the side part is on its way of becoming the hottest hairstyle for 2014. Upswept, pulled back low, loose, wavy or straight, the low side parting was very popular at the International Fashion Weeks.

    Flamboyant sums up the mood at the Zang Toi Show in New York City. The designer decided to send his models down the runway with striking water wave hairdos, thus laying the foundation for the most glamorous trend of the 2014 fall/winter season
