Do you feel like wearing wavy hair and all kinds of curls? We are going to show you six catwalk hair styles, which you may want to try. Our tricks will help you to create wild and poufy curls or soft and romantic looks

  • Quite a few hair stylists are busy backstage at fashion shows in Milano, Paris and New York. They fix the hair of models according to the new fashion, and they also make sure that the hair styles complement the outfits. With patience and practice you can achieve the same looks at home. Make sure that you have the proper tools at hand. That includes brushes with natural (boar) bristles and light handle and a hair dryer with diffuser attachment. Before you start, take another look into your bathroom cabinet. Do you have hair spray for your curls? Is the mousse at hand? Have everything ready before you start your styling session. Then let the fun begin!

Don’t wash your hair immediately before the styling session. Your hair will be more manageable a few hours after shampooing it. Simply add water to your hair until it is damp before styling it. Remember, your hair should be completely dry and cooled down before you remove rollers, papillotes or brushes. Otherwise, your curls will quickly go limb.

Good Girl with the Golden Curls

The good girl with the golden curls takes an excursion into the world of glamour (as shown on the occasion of the Swiss Fashion Week). For the above style a thick curling iron is used to create soft waves in the shoulder-length hair. Comb all hair to the right side and use hair pins to loosely fasten it on the upper right side of your head. With a bit of hair spray the hairdo will stay in the proper shape for a while

    Dream Curls by Neil Barrett

These dream curls do not make you look square like overly perfect waves sometimes do. This is guaranteed not the case for the hair style above. It was presented by Neil Barrett on the occasion of the Milan Fashion Week. For this style the hair is rolled up to chin level on large Velcro-rollers. This leaves the hair close to the scalp relatively straight. Use the hair dryer to give the hair a short blast of hot air and then allow the rollers to dry for about ten minutes. Cautiously take the rollers out of your hair. Do not brush your hair but rather work some styling crème into the ends while styling the hair with your fingers. You may decide to apply a little hair spray to the hair near the scalp

    Bob has turned Bohemian

Here the bob has turned Bohemian. In just a few steps you can turn your geometric haircut into this romantic looking hair style. It was shown on the occasion of a Kilian Kerner fashion show. Simply spray blow-dryer setting lotion on your hair before rolling it on very thin hair curlers or papillotes. It is important to work with relative small strands of hair to give the hair more volume. Allow the hair to dry before you carefully take out the rollers. Use a little hair spray for better hold before you use your fingers to give your hair the fashionable easy-going disorganised look

    Metropolitan Amazons by Marc Jacobs

Metropolitan Amazons modelling for Marc Jacobs: The wild curls together with the centre parting in the black-brown hair over the fur collar appear almost archaic. There are two ways to achieve the look. In the evening, spray the damp hair with setting lotion and then form tiny braids from small strands of hair. Undo the braids in the morning and comb your hair with a wide-toothed comb. Rather than braiding your hair you can also use a crimping iron on strands of hair to create the desired A-line in the hair. A little hair spray gives the hair the necessary hold. You should remember that crimping irons work best on really straight hair. Natural curls or permed hair will quickly show a life of their own

Classic Hair Style by Christian Dior

This is a classic hair style presented by a Christian Dior model: We admit it, blonde hair plays up this style but it is a real highlight with brown hair as well. Part your shoulder-length hair deep on one side and spray a little setting lotion into your hair. Put medium-sized Velcro rollers into hair strands, which should be not too small. Allow the strands to dry before taking out the rollers and brushing your hair. Spray a little setting lotion at temple level on your hair. Put a long spring-loaded alligator clip into your side hair and use the blow-dryer again. Allow your hair to cool completely, take the alligator clip out and then carefully brush your hair. Use a trace of hair spray for more hold and shine

Little Red Riding Hood's Hip Sister

Little Red Riding Hood's hip sister is here seen as a model for the fashion house of Gant. Your hair should be at least shoulder-long for this luxurious mane. To achieve this hair style you have to spray the hair strand by strand with blow-dryer lotion or alternatively, work a tennis ball-sized amount of mousse through your hair. Then lift up relatively thin hair strands vertically and roll them on papillotes. It is important not to bend the ends of the hair at a sharp angle. Wrap the hair ends in small pieces of hair wrapping paper to avoid bending them. Use the blow-dryer to warm up the hair and then allow it to cool for at least 20 minutes. Carefully take the papillotes out of the hair. Do not brush your hair but rather pull the curls into shape with your fingers. Apply some hair spray for hold and more shine
