We love lilac! As a delicate pastel nuance or powerful, trendy hue, in the all over look or as a colourful hair highlight – purple is popular. The eye-catching colour of the year effectively makes many styles and cuts come alive: From linear bobs to long locks. Here are our favourite lilac looks

  • From lilac to ultraviolet – purple hair is wonderful! Stars and fashion bloggers have long since fallen in love with lilac and are trying out the popular colour in all its facets. But why does everyone want lilac all of a sudden? While there are many reasons, here is a small selection:

  • We love purple hair because...

...it looks good with any cut and length.

    ...it flatters virtually every complexion.

...it features a broad palette of nuances. This means you can find the right look for every taste!

...it works for any style – from punky to elegant.

...it appears modern and is truly eye-catching.

...it makes a nice change in our hair!

    Purple Hair: Pixie

Short & cool: The trendsetters' new favourite hair colour is ideal for giving short cuts that something extra. A frayed pixie in ashy purple for instance appears modern, classy and feminine. And if you feel like putting on a wild, punk attitude, simply style your hair in the tousled messy look

    Purple Hair: Braided Hairstyle

Attractive combination: Long lilac hair (here in the multifaceted two-tone look with a dark hairline) is wonderful in combination with another trend: Braids. Popular braids are not merely an attractive styling variation. They spectacularly bring out the various shades in hair as well. Double your styling enjoyment by intertwining the ends of the two braids!

    Purple Hair: Side Cut

She is truly a purple pro: Rock singer Kelly Osbourne was among the first to discover the trendy new colour for herself and has been frequently experimenting with new nuances and hairdos ever since. She chose a soft pastel version for her current side cut. A super hip styling contrast: Rebellious meets delicate. Very well received!

Purple Hair: Long Bob with Fringe

Singer-songwriter Justine Skye is also a big fan of lilac hair. Probably an important reason why her Instagram name is 'The Purple Unicorn'. With a long bob plus fringe in the sleek look, the New Yorker demonstrates how noble and classic plum-coloured hair can appear

    Purple Hair: Updo

Eye-catcher: With this elaborately draped hairdo, one simply has to take a second look! Not only because of the alluring details – the hair colour itself catches the eye: This dark plum hue goes with the trend, appearing extra sophisticated and mysterious. Perfect for anyone who wants to elegantly present a love for lilac

While purple hair is unconventional, it certainly passes the everyday test! Especially in the soft colour variants. You think the hair colour is striking enough so you have to omit makeup altogether? No need, since the right accents on lips and lashes result in very special styles guaranteed to elicit envy!

For a magical elven look for instance, simply complement lilac hair with a discreet eye shadow with glow effect and a cool berry hue on the lips (such as pearly pink, fuchsia or blackberry). A dream! With a pastel purple hue in your hair, you can send even stronger wow signals using makeup (like Kelly Osbourne in the photo). Avoid applying too many different colours to your face, otherwise things get excessively wild. Cherry red, kissable lips and a bold eye line in classic black are perfect!
